Stock Market Today Live : Adani Green Energy shares jump more than 2.5% as it unveiled plans to invest ₹1.5 trillion to grow capacity

Stock Market Today Live : The company has announced plans to invest approximately 1.5 trillion by 2030 to establish the world’s largest renewable energy plant at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. This plant, with a capacity of 30 gigawatts, was revealed by the company’s head, Vneet Jaain, during a media interaction on Saturday. This project is part of Adani Group’s broader strategy to reach an installed renewable energy capacity of 45 gigawatts in India by 2030. The plan includes the development of 26 gigawatts of solar energy and 4 gigawatts of wind energy. At present, AGEL’s renewable portfolio spans across 12 states, with an operating capacity of 10.93 gigawatts, which includes 7.39 gigawatts of solar, 1.4 gigawatts of wind, and 2.14 gigawatts of hybrid energy. Jaain, the Managing Director of AGEL, shared with the media that the company has already commissioned 2 gigawatts of solar capacity at the park. An additional 4 gigawatts is set to be installed in the current financial year (FY25), primarily focusing on solar energy.

Stock Market Today Live : During a phone call in late March, Rishad Premji, the chair of Wipro Ltd, requested that CEO Thierry Delaporte step down. Delaporte, who is French, was interested in knowing if he would be granted a second term at the company, which has been lagging behind its competitors and experiencing a departure of employees.

Delaporte, whose tenure of five years was set to conclude on July 5, 2025, expressed to Premji that Wipro, the fourth largest IT services company in India, should see improvement in the latter half of FY25. This sentiment was shared by two executives privy to the call, even though Wipro’s growth is not anticipated during the April-October period.

Stock Market Today Live : Thierry Delaporte, the CEO and MD of Wipro, has stepped down from his role, as announced in a regulatory filing by the company on April 6. His term as CEO was originally set to conclude in July 2025, but it was prematurely ended with his resignation announced late on Saturday. Delaporte will be officially relieved of his CEO duties from May 31, 2024. Srinivas Pallia, the former CEO of the company’s America region and a veteran of the company with over three decades of service, will assume the role of the new CEO and MD from April 7, 2024. His tenure will last for five years, as stated by the company in its Saturday statement.

Stock Market Today Live : Signature Global says pre-sales accruals grew 112% in FY24 to ₹7,270 crores; collections rose 62% to ₹3,110 crore

Stock Market Today Live : Signature Global posted quarterly and annual pre-sales of 4,140 crore and 7,270 crore in Q4 and FY24, respectively, with the year on year growth rates of 240% for the fourth quarter and 112% for the full year.

It has significantly exceeded its guidance of 4,500 crore in FY24, due to the successful launch of its first ever premium housing project.

The company’s collections in FY24 grew 62% to 3,110 crore, beating its annual guidance of 2,900 crore. Its sales realisation soared 49% to 11,762 per sq. ft in FY24 compared to 7,886 per sq. ft in ,FY23.

Net debt stood at 1,160 crore at the end of FY24 in comparison to 1,090 crore in FY23.

The company expects NSV and revenue growth for the quarter to be in the high twenties on a YoY basis. With this, its full financial year 2024 revenue growth is estimated to be in mid-twenties YoY.

The company’s BPC vertical GMV for the quarter is expected to grow around thirty percent, and NSV growth is expected to be in mid-twenties on a YoY basis.

Fashion vertical GMV for the quarter is expected to grow in the high twenties, and NSV growth is expected to be in the mid-twenties on a YoY basis.

Stock Market Today Live : Global cues, Gift Nifty indicate strong open for Indian markets

Stock Market Today Live : Indian markets were likely to open on a positive note on Monday, led by positive cues from global markets. 

At 8:30 am, the Gift Nifty futures, at 22,653.50 was up nearly nearly 150 points from Nifty 50’s Friday close of 22,513.70, also indicating a gap up open for the Indian benchmarks. 

Asian shares started the week on a subdued note on Monday, while the dollar firmed as investors weighed when the U.S. Federal Reserve will start cutting rates in the wake of yet another blowout jobs report. 

Oil prices fell nearly 2% as Middle East tensions eased after Israel withdrew more soldiers from southern Gaza, while gold prices slumped 1% after scaling record high on Friday as U.S. Treasury yields remain elevated. 

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was 0.26% higher, while Tokyo’s Nikkei rose 1%. China mainland stocks reopened after extended holidays from Thursday, with the blue-chip gauge 0.5% lower. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.33%. 

Wall Street’s main indexes closed higher on Friday after data showed U.S. job growth blew past expectations in March and wages increased at a steady clip, suggesting the economy ended the first quarter on solid ground.

Investor focus this week will be squarely on the U.S. consumer price index (CPI) report, which is expected to show core inflation slowing to 3.7% in March from 3.8% the prior month. 

The yield on 10-year Treasury notes was up 4.4 basis points to 4.422%. 

The European Central Bank is due to meet later this week and is widely expected to keep rates steady. 

In commodities, spot gold dropped 0.5% to $2,317.09 an ounce, having breached record peak last week. 

U.S. crude fell 2.32% to $84.89 per barrel and Brent was at $88.89, down 2.5% on the day.
