New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Wayanad, on Wednesday filed his nomination. The Congress leader neither owns a house or any vehicle but has stock market investment and mutual fund deposits of crores. As per the poll affidavit attached to Gandhi’s nomination papers filed from Wayanad, Gandhi’s total assets reportedly amount to Rs 20 crore, with an annual income exceeding Rs 1 crore
Stock market investments, agricultural land among Rahul’s assets
The Congress leader has stock market investments of Rs 4.3 crore, mutual fund deposits of Rs 3.81 crore, and Rs 26.25 lakh in a bank account. Gandhi also jointly owns an agricultural land with sister Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi’s Mehrauli, along with office space in Gurugram valued at Rs 11 crore, according to reports.
In the affidavit, he declared Rs 55,000 in cash and a total income of Rs 1,02,78,680 during the financial year 2022-23. The value of his movable assets is Rs 9.24 crore while the total value of his immovable property stands at Rs 11.14 crore, according to the details furnished along with his nomination.
Details of assets of Rahul’s opponent Annie Raja
Communist Party of India’s (CPI) Annie Raja who is contesting against Gandhi in Wayanad. Her total assets amount to Rs 72 lakh. Raja has declared only Rs 10,000 cash in hand, bank deposits worth Rs 62,000, jewellery worth Rs 25,000 and an inherited property valued at Rs 71 lakh. Voting for 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala will be held in single phase on April 26. In the last Lok Sabha polls, Gandhi had won the same seat with a huge margin of over four lakh votes.
