Young Thug Scores First No. 1 on Hot 100, as Featured on Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’

As previously reported, Camila Cabello and featured rapper Young Thug each earn their first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 char (dated Jan. 27), as “Havana” reaches the summit (2-1) for the first time.

“Havana” concurrently earns both artists their first No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, jumping from No. 5 with a 34 percent gain to 44.9 million U.S. streams in the week ending Jan. 18, according to Nielsen Music.

While the coronation contributes to Cabello’s milestone week, as she also earns her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with her debut solo set Camila, Young Thug celebrates his first trip to the top of the Hot  after first appearing on the chart nearly four years ago. The rapper (born Jeffery Lamar Williams) logged 24 prior visits before posting his first No. 1.

Dating to his first Hot 100 entry in March 2014, “Stoner,” which peaked at No. 47, Young Thug has earned five top 40 hits. Prior to “Havana,” he rose highest as featured, with Rich Homie Quan, on Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle.” The song peaked at No. 16 on the chart dated Nov. 15, 2014.

Young Thug tallied his other three top 40 Hot 100 hits between “Lifestyle” and “Havana” also via features: on Rae Sremmurd’s “Throw Sum Mo,” also featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 30, April 25, 2015); Usher’s “No Limit” (No. 32, Oct. 8, 2016); and Drake’s “Sacrifices,” also featuring 2 Chainz (No. 36, April 8, 2017).

Of Young Thug’s 25 total Hot 100 entries, 12 debuted in 2017. The rapper has also enjoyed success on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, earning two top 10s (“Lifestyle,” No. 4; “No Limit,” No. 9) among 34 entries.
